Bought this to replace my very good, but aging, G15 keyboard. The G510 has the same fantastically convenient G-keys as the G15, and they all can be personally labeled no matter how you set them up. The new selectable color format gives the illuminated keys and the LCD much greater visibility in varying ambient light, and the selectability means that you don't have to look at the same color all the time.
Jacks for headphones and microphone are a nice option for expandability and portability.
My particular keyboard has 2 minor problems which apparently affect several of these devices, and for which there is apparently no permanent fix. The audio mute button and the volume roller have never worked; but, I have more convenient alternatives anyway, so this is unimportant to me. And, after the PC is "wakened" from sleep mode neither the G-keys nor the LCD are functional --- this can be remedied by disconnecting the keyboard from the PC for about 5 seconds and then reconnecting... since my PC rarely gets into sleep mode, this too is unimportant to me.
All-in-all an excellent keyboard that is well worth the cost. And I don't even use it for gaming.

This keyboard is a solid keyboard. I like the ability to mash keys and have them all register. The one downside for me is that the back lit keys aren't that bright. I wanted a back lit keyboard so I could see the keys in the dark. And you can, they are just very dim and there is no option to change the brightness of the keys. Other than that it's a great keyboard.

After many years of continual use, my G15 (v1) keyboard finally started to die (several keys stopped working), so I had to place it. I considered several alternatives, but in the end in came down to another G15 or a G510. The display hinge on the G15 is a weak point and the usb ports are under-powered. The G510 has a fixed display and has audio ports instead of USB, but is otherwise very similar, so I decided to get it because the price was better.

My G510 has performed very well and all my G15 settings were retained. I like the roller bar for the volume control and the ability to set the keyboard lighting color. The headset connection works, but whenever you plug or disconnect the audio, the G510 resets the USB device, which can disrupt the program interface. When using the G510 audio for chatting in-game, sometimes it gets choppy if the graphics load is heavy. Overall, I like it better than the G15.
